MEET Branden Durst
Branden Durst is a third generation Idahoan with family roots that run deep throughout Ada County. From his grandfather's farm on Ustick to his grandmother's Depression Era boarded up tent on the Boise River, Branden knows the history of Ada County and understands how we got to where we are today.
Branden is a person of great conviction. He believes that patriots must act boldly and courageously to address the issues facing our community and Nation. Most importantly, Branden's faith is paramount to his worldview and belief in freedom, liberty and Truth.
In 2006 Branden was elected to the Idaho House of Representatives and quickly earned a reputation for being able to find creative solutions to difficult problems. This innovative aptitude resulted in Branden being awarded the Public Policy Innovation Award from the Idaho Freedom Foundation and the Accomplished 40 Under 40 Award from the Idaho Business Review.
Branden was re-elected in 2008 and then elected to the Idaho Senate in 2012. His strong conservative voting record placed him as the eighth most conservative member of the then very conservative Idaho Senate.
Professionally, Branden has served in a variety of leadership positions in the public and private sectors. He has also been active in Republican politics with appointments to chair and be a member of several important committees. Branden is elected as vice chairman of his legislative district central committee.
Academically, he holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Pacific Lutheran University. Branden also has earned master of public administration degree with emphasis in policy analysis and an education specialist degree in executive educational leadership, both from Boise State University.
Branden is married to his amazing wife, Cheri, and has five children - four sons and one daughter.
